I know I should bring this up on some logic forum, but this is pretty much the only music/beat making forum that I bother with so if anyone has any insight into this it would be much appreciated. is the engine in express a low rent version of what they have in logic pro? I feel like a grand is a bit much to drop on something that I will be using so sparingly, but I'm trying to get things sounding a bit better. I was thinking of getting logic express for this purpose but I'm worried that I will still be compromising. I use vsts and I would like to do my sequencing in live and then export the midi files and the vsts to another program to print the audio files. I have been working almost entirely within live recently as it allows me to do exactly what I want quickly and easily. I never really thought that pro tools le on it's own sounded that great to begin with and have tended to bring things to studios with higher end pro tools systems to mix down. Answer: Steinbergs Cubase tends to be completely geared to songwriting and music production. I think it sounds pretty dull compared to pro tools le which I also use. It is so solid on my mac, it and as a continuation on my search for a DAW that fits me, it may be my favorite. Find out the difference between Nuendo and Cubase. I am having a similar issue with ableton. So Nuendo is great for my use cases, compared to Cubase, because of 2 video tracks, EDL import to markers, CSV markers import, video export, better AAF handling etc.
